A friend asked me if I had any reccomended reading for the holidays. We are both Product Managers, so this list was curated with that lens.

Product Org. Escaping The Build Trap, Melissa Perri (📕 Book)
Common issues with product orgs, and how to fix them. Great for companies looking to become more “product-led”. $50,000 in consulting advice, condensed into 80 pages. Worth every dollar.
Product Strategy. Ben Thompson interviews Mark Zuckerberg and Satya Nadella (🎙Podcast)
Like your barber’s barber, Ben Thompson is who your CPO looks to for a fresh lens on the tech landscape. Read more of Ben Thompson @ Stratchery
AI Foundations. Anton Teaches Packy AI (🎙Podcast)
This pod gives a just-deep-enough dive to get a general idea of what’s happening under the hood of the AI models you see making headlines. Find more Packy McCormick @ notboring
Product/ UX. The Pandemic Ruined Customer Delight and That's Okay ( 📄 Blog)
“Delight” has been the product buzzword for years now. I was delighted to see a pragmatic challenge to that groupthink.
Management. One Minute Manager, Ken Blanchard and Spencer Johnson (📕 Book)
Finally, a people management book that’s not 100 pages too long.
Pairs well with GPT. The Last Question, Issac Asmiov (📄 Short Story)
Published in 1956, more relevant than ever.
Leisure. Grapes of Wrath, John Steinbeck (📕 Book)
A refresher on the pains caused by creative disruption.
Anti Recommendation.: The Phoenix Project (📕 Book)
Might catch some scoff from engineers, but this book is not worth the time. If I am going to spend time on a 300-page novel, I’m going to opt for a classic. As an alternative - spend 15 minutes watching this Red Bead Experiment with Dr. Ed Deming.
